A short answer for it will be, 32GB of RAM is enough and can handle the video editing projects you  encounter. This amount can fulfill the minimum requirements of all popular video editing software and is  also good to go with the 4K video editing.

And of course going above 32GB definitely won’t hurt, but it is unnecessary in most cases especially if  you’re just starting out.

You can do the video editing with  8GB of RAM however it will be limited to working with low quality video files such as 720p HD. If you open a video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro most of the 8GB RAM will already be used up by the load of the operating system. 8GB of RAM will only allow for basic productivity and should not be  considered as an option for an efficient video editing experience.

There’s a thing in the videographer world that having more RAM for video editing in 2025 is never bad. But the  thing is that you can not get 64GB of RAM from a single RAM module if you are upgrading from 32GB  to 64GB it means you have to use 2 or more RAM sticks together. Normally most video editors won’t  need to use 64GB of RAM. But if there’s a need for it and you want to use it to edit 8K files videos or want to work with motion graphics then you can opt for this option but this might cost you more than it’s worth.
